Happy Birthday America!

Happy 234th Birthday to my beloved country! I have only been around for the last 42 of those, but they sure have been fun, challenging and exhilarating all at once. Sandy with OWH has done it again... instead of a typical blog hop we are doing a "blog tour" featuring a Birthday card to commemorate Independence Day. I will link back to the OWH S&S blog so you can "tour" around to all the blogs - any time over the weekend. I was thrilled to be able to use up some scraps to create my cards - I made 4 altogether similar to the two shown. Check out everyones cards, their stories and maybe, just maybe they might be having blog candy or even freebies!!! I have blog candy!!! I have two stamp sets - one Hero Arts misc. sentiments and one Art Warehouse that has sister sentiments, some flowers from Michaels wedding dept (pictured below - I really need to figure out how to take better pictures of cards and what I post) and then I will also cut up a sampling of some of the Quickutz I have, but those will be a surprise.... hee hee. Just leave me a comment by 7/10 and I will draw a winner on 7/11.

OK... the video I wanted to post seems to have been pulled or something, so I guess I'm done here. Have a Happy and Safe holiday weekend - head back to the S&S blog and enjoy the rest of "The Tour"!

  12. I see that you are also still trying to get through the OWH blog tour! I had more committments than usual this holiday, so it's been hard to start and stop on the tour when you're forgetful like me! lol

Anyhoo, I love your cards! I see you are having fun with your diecut machines! I love the simplistic beauty of this card and hope people realize that they don't need to have 10 layers on a card to send to out heroes! I'm happy that you started this blog so you can do the blog hopping, but why not try some of the challenges over at the OWH Stars and Stamps blog to get you in the mood to make more cards. Challenges are a great motivator!

Also, saw that you're having a problem taking pictures. First, see if your camera has a macro setting which is usually a tulip looking thing. Use that setting for close-ups. You may also want to use natural sunlight for your pics. I just set my cards on a chair close to my window where the sun is the natural light and take it from there. Many people even go outside. Natural light is always much better for pics.

    Happy card making!

  13. Better late than never...and I guess I have time until you pick a winner. Don't know how I missed you earlier but I've been hopping around so much between visits, and there's so much to see and learn.
Your card is great, and like you mentioned, taking the photo means a lot and I have problems too. Will have to try the suggestion I read earlier on this.
Thanks for sharing...and for the chance to win some blog candy.
